"Pretty close to the Broadway bar district", this "magnificent"-looking Music City hotel pleases visitors who praise the "attractive" outdoor pool area, "comfortable" beds and "family-friendly" staff; critics counter with lukewarm reviews of "small", "run-down" accommodations whose bathrooms "need to be updated."

Shuttle service was fantastic.
Worn out furniture in room and lobby.

Overall, it was a great experience, but the hotel really needs new furnishings and some sprucing up. With a good refurnishing, painting and a few repairs, it would be a solid 3 1/2 star hotel. With a lot of money spent, it might be a 4, but as is, it falls to a 2.5 to 3.0. Staff was wonderful and location, with the shuttle was great and we did not have a car. ...read more

The lounge was very nice. They have shuttle service to downtown. We didn't need our car much at all.
The lavatory sink and mirror are out in the room area and not private.

Very beautiful. Good amenities including good restaurant and lounge. The shuttle service is definitely a plus. The weather was bad when we were there and we never needed to take our own car out. The parking is free! ...read more

The free shuttle service to downtown Nashville.
I thought it would be closer to the downtown area.

The hotel was very nice for the price, and the free shuttle to and from downtown was a huge, unexpected perk. The rooms were nice and overall we would recommend it to someone who wants to stay slightly away from downtown but close enough that it's a five minute cab or shuttle ride. ...read more

Free shuttle downtown.
Carpet, door to room showed signs of wear.

There is nothing in walking distance except a Starbucks and a McDonald's. Both of which came in handy. You would think a hotel which is named for the original Maxwell House Hotel, which was destroyed by a fire in 1961 and which is the home of Maxwell House coffee, would have free Maxwell House coffee in the lobby. Alas, there was only a one-cup maker in the room with only powdered creamer instead of half and half or $2 coffee in the restaurant. There was no microwave or mini-fridge. The free shuttle to downtown was a real plus. Good hotel for business travelers. ...read more

Very nice, clean room. Modern.
It was not within walking distance to Nashville downtown, which we expected it would be.

The view of downtown Nashville at night was beautiful; the food from room service was excellent; the room service staff was friendly and accommodating.
The bathroom was dated, there was only one bathrobe, there was no corkscrew or wine glasses in the room.

It was ideal for a romantic evening in Nashville.
